BOR, 11TH APRIL, 2019 [JONGLEI]-The National Bureau of Statistics is carrying out an Integrated Business Enterprise Survey (IBES).

The National Coordinator for Statistical Systems Atem Bul Malang said the survey is intended to determine the level of development in the business sector. 

“Is a nation-wide survey which the bureau of statistics had planned to do for South Sudan to determine the level of development in the business sector, is there growth and what are their terms of employment and also how much difficulties they are operating in?” said Atem.

Mr. Atem also said the survey is intended to take place in 12 major populated towns of South Sudan with the exception of Bentiu and Malakal citing inaccessibility.

“We are targeting 12 major populated towns of South Sudan because where there is population we always assumed businesses must be there” he stressed.

He says the National Bureau of statistics last year between sent a team of enumerators for the registration of all business around Bor, therefore, generating a sample frame of 13,000 businesses.
