The State Ministry of Education, Gender & Social Welfare is the amalgamation of former State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the State Ministry of Gender & Social Welfare. The two (2) Ministries become two (2) different Directorates (Directorate of Education Sector and the Directorate of Gender & Social Welfare) which do not have the same Vision, Mission and Objectives. Therefore, the Vision, Mission and Objectives of the State Ministry of Education, Gender & Social Welfare are as follows:-

To promote gender equality and equity that the Ministry advocates, mobilizes, sensitizes and protects the rights of all people without any discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, political or religious affiliation.
OBJECTIVES
- Promote and mobilize social welfare to vulnerable person in the State
- Sensitization of the Community on prevention and response mechanism to deliver services to victim of Gender based violent against women
- Family tracing and re-unification of rescued abducted children
- Transfer and referral pathway for children and women cases from one location to other Organization
- Advocating for children and women who are conflict and in contact with Law in the police , Judiciary and Prison services
- Promote Religious tolerance co-existence
- Promotes women economic empowerment and take the services to the people
- Develops policies and programs in regards to women , children and vulnerable groups in collaboration with Development Partners/Organizations , civil society and Unions partners that are concerned with gender and social services
- Coordinate the protection activities with partners to empower staff on areas of protection and social services delivery
- Make awareness on issues facing children and women such as rape, forced and early marriages, child abduction and other cultural practices.
