Bor, 22 August, 2018 (Jonglei) – Muslim believers in Jonglei state have joined the rest of Muslims across the world to commemorate Eidal-Adha with hope for achieving lasting peace in South Sudan.

Muslims believed that the day was a day Abraham was commanded by God to sacrifice his son, Ismail. 

The  holy God spared the boy and replacing him with a ram.

The day is t being celebrated annnually by muslims in their lifetimes as a demonstration of the solidarity of the Muslim people and their submission to God.

Sheik Deng Yuot, chairman of Islamic Mission in Jonglei state said that the Muslims celebrate Eid-Al-Adha to remember Prophet Abraham’s obedience to God. 

Yuot said that the God asked Abraham  to sacrificed his own son Ismail, on the alter as a sacrificed. 

Another Islamic leader, Sheik Deng said Muslims accros the country support the signing of South Sudan’s peace process.

He calls on residents of Bor to forgiveness each other and work for peace among themselves so that they achieve the lasting peace.
