Governor Chagor visited Conventional Internally Displaced Persons’ camp formerly known as PoC in Bor, Jonglei State. Denay received warm reception with a bull slaughtered upon his arrival. In his visit, head of UNMISS in Bor – Madam Deborah, representative from RRC at State level, National MPs, Military commanders of Division 8 and High ranking police officers were among the teams that accompanied the Governor. In an opening remarks, Bidit Choat, an IDPs camp Chairperson welcomed the Governor and reiterated that they have accepted the change of PoC status from PoC to Conventional Internally Displaced Persons’ camp. Furthermore, Women’s representatives, and chiefs from the host communities have promised to friendly assist the IDPs in tracing their plots if agree to return to their homes. Meanwhile, both military and police officers had promised to jointly protect the IDPs. The Governor urged any willingly individual who would like to return to his home in Bor town to be given back to his/her plots, a statement repeatedly seconded by the chiefs, polices, and military commanders in their speeches. In another development, Governor Denay warns some NGOs who are raising funds in the name of the community but never deliver services to the beneficiaries.In conclusion remarks, Hon. Denay appreciated the UNMISS and other partners for protecting and serving the IDPs for many years since outbreak of the 2013 incident.
