BOR – At least 1, 000 households have received seeds and farm tools in Duk Pagak County in Jonglei state.

The suport provided to Pagak residents would boost agriculture in the county ahead of this year’s cultivation.

The seeds, farm tools and equipment were distributed by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Speaking to Jonglei State website on Tuesday, James Yien Jal, the county commissioner of Duk Pagak county said locals have been appreciating supports as some of them will cultivate for the first time since 2013 crisis.

People have not been cultivating in the county since 2013 due to insecurity and lack of seeds. We talk to ICRC and they supplied us with the seeds of okra, maize and sorghum and farm tools, James Yien said.

Commissioner Yien appreciated the support, saying it will improve people’s livelihood in his county.
