BOR – Authorities from Jonglei state said cattle raiders have looted many heads of cattle in Uror county.
According to information minister Veronica William Deng, unidentified gunmen attacked and raided more than 4,000 cattle on Monday. William Deng said that the attackers heading towards Eastern direction of Greater Pibor Administrative area.
Minister Deng urges local youth to remain calm as neighboring states of Jonglei and GPAA are negotiating peace with each other. “We are for peace and we need our communities to adapted peace which will end inter-communal violent”, she said.
Local communities in Greater Jonglei have been engaged on inter-communal violence leading to child abduction, cattle raiding and killing of innocent people for many years. The conflict is the longest ever in the history of Greater Jonglei.
Minister Deng also worned Bor residents in a seperated story that, the residents have to adapted COVID-19 preventive measures in the state.
And State director for Radio and Television from ministry of information, Aweth Bakher called on public to wear face masks regularly.
