BOR, 27th August, 2018 [JONGLEI] – More than 20 journalists have completed on the job training for producers last week in Jonglei state. The training aims at boosting media capacity at the state level.
The training which brought about 27 media personnel across the state was conducted by Internews in partnership with Radio Jonglei 87.9 FM and facilitated by Search for Common Ground.
Managing Director for Radio Jonglei, Malek Gutnyin Gerwar, told participants on Saturday to uses the acquired skills for community transformation.
“If we take these skills and knowledge very seriously, it will help us currently and in the future. And this is the reason USAID is investing in us to have the capacity to help our community professionally. USAID is investing in us as journalists to give us skills and to equip us so that we can change our nation from the current state of tribalism, hatred and other crisis” Malek Gutnyin said.
Daniel Lasuba, who is a media coordinator for Search For Common Ground (SFCG) assured journalists to utilize the skills and knowledges in a professional ways.
“I would urge you as we have learnt about the core values of good journalists, be accurate and fair, be impartial and always be responsible about the stories that you write, Daniel Lasuba who trained participants said.
Amuor Rebecca Ayii, who attended six days training on job training for producers, said that she has improved her writing styles.
