BOR, 2nd JUNE, 2019 [JONGLEI] –In a gubernatorial decree No. 20/2019 read on Radio Jonglei on Saturday morning, His Excellency Philip Aguer Panyang Jot relieved Hon. Martin Matien Gumwel Mabior from his position as a commissioner of Duk Padiet County.
Jonglei State governor Aguer Panyang quoted article 99 (2) (a) transitional constitution of Jonglei State that give him powers to relieves and appoints the officials.
The decree has not given any charges for Martin’s dismissal.
Martin has been a commissioner of Duk Padiet County for 13 months, and he was the third commissioner since the establishment of Duk Padiet County.
Duk Padiet County was part of former Duk County of Jonglei State before the creation of 32 States in the Republic of South Sudan, and was later promoted to be a county under newly established Jonglei State comprising of former Duk, Twic East and Bor counties.
